This is not your average eye palette. That’d be boring. We (and most importantly, Jaclyn Hill) don’t do boring. This palette is a 2-year love affair. 35 brand-new, OMG eyeshadows that Jaclyn whipped up, formulated, tested, re-tested, and perfected. They were created to deliver not only the best color payoff but also amazing application. Mattes, shimmers, satins, foils, and glitter: all pressed to perfection...just the way Jaclyn wanted. Her dreamy colors are now your reality. So whether you’re pressed for time or have time to play, this palette is your new bestie. Because a girl (and guy) needs to have options.
So this baby came through the post the other day and though I swatched and took pics straightaway my review is a little later than I'd liked.
So Jaclyn Hill and Morphe took two years making Morphe x The Jaclyn Hill Palette to me that alone shouts out how much hard effort would have gone into creating this palette and when they say each shade is pressed to perfection again I'd expect just that!
Lets start with the packaging - I for one am glad to see something different to the usual plastic casing as quite honestly I just feel it gives a little tacky feel to the palettes. So this palette itself is housed in white sturdy cardboard packaging, with silver foiled lettering on the top of the palette, once open the base of the palette where the eyeshadows sit is silver, so the colour theme is simple white and silver they've gone for. The limited edition palette contains 35 brand new eyeshadow shades, with a variety of different textures from shimmers to glitters, mattes, foils and satins. What I would've liked to have seen is a mirror included to finish the packaging off.
So when it comes to the colour selection, I do see some shades which are similar to what they've already released, I like the fact the first row features transition shades and highlighter shades and I also love the selections for rows 3, 4, 5. However I feel row 2 and 3 are very similar shades to what they've previously released which put me in two minds whether to get the palette or not. When I got to swatching I found some of the textures felt slightly thick and clogged mainly the foiled shades rather than a smooth glide I had to even out the shadow. on the other hand I love the purple shade which feature blue and purple glitter, some of the mattes like the burnt orange shades where a dream to swatch. I think overall I love the colours but I wish they'd put in more unique shades and I'd like to play with these using brushes and to create a look before I can make a full judgement on what I think.
Did you get this palette and what were your thoughts?
