So this review has been waiting a hell of a long time and I'm sure you can guess why as I had all these babies to trial and test. Can you honestly picture my excitement when these turned up - I will leave that to your imagination!
As a liquid lipstick lover and someone who lives in them 99% of the time I have tried and tested a fair few brands to say the least. Tarte launched one HUGE collection of liquid matte lipsticks and believe me my head took a little spin when they turned up on little old me's doorstep! So when they first released the Tarte Tarteist Lip Paints they released a total of 18 shades (they've since added to the range). As you can see a majority of the shades in fact more than half the range consists of nudes in different tones as well as shades, they also threw in some deeper shades along with a few brights.
They kept their packaging simple, chunkier tubes to the average liquid matte lipsticks on the market, the applicator is a comfortable firm doe foot in a smallish size and the lids are matte black, but not the rubber type of matte which catches finger prints. Lets start of with the texture it is quite thin compared to average liquid lipsticks that only means one of too things they're either not going to work or they're going to work and do a damn good job.
When I first swatched these I was rather shocked at how thin the texture is so I swatched a few shades on the back of my hand as I do with most lipsticks to see how they wear - these lasted pretty damn well I was quite pleased with how long they did last. So for a week straight I wore these day in day out, the texture is so lightweight its almost as if you don't have anything on your lips! Wear time on the lips is pretty good too! So from me its a double thumbs up Tarte I love them, these have they're own acrylic compartment all for themselves in my beauty room! I am glad to see Tarte have extended the range and I'd love for them to add some more mid tone shades and some pinks too other than that the only other thing is I'd like the doe foot applicator to be a bit wider as I have to dip a couple of times to get a full application. That aside I think you already gathered - I love them!
