I was one of those crazy women who paid over the odds for this baby, although I have the original limited edition Whisper Of Guilt This compact was too cute not to get my hands on it. Everyone knows what the craze was like for last year for MAC Oh Darling people queuing up at 6am and going shop to shop whilst others eagerly waiting ready with the website running, refreshing every few second I however was not about to go through that this year.
So this is from this years Holiday collection; the MAC Nutcracker collection as always will include this compact with another one and the usual sets of pigments, brushes, lipsticks etc. The packaging that the MAC Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Compact comes in is diagonal matte and shiny, pink and purple stripes with actual embroidery embedded around the compact and with some of the detailing and the MAC logo which I actually thought was really pretty. The compact inside comes with a full size mirror and has magnetic mechanism for when u close it again it is nice to see MAC have made this collection with some effort.
I will try do a full comparison post between the WOG in this palette and my original compact so I won't go into that on this post. I received this palette over the weekend and haven't had a chance to use it on my face as I only just managed time to squeeze in blog pics and swatches so this review is based purely on that. I do love the WOG in this palette it swatched beautifully, doesn't much shimmer particles at all and pay off seems really good too. The bronzer in this compact is a little lighter than some of the pics I saw running up to the release of these, although it looks matte in the pan it has a slight sheen finish to it and is quite warm I would have to try it as a contour/bronzer before I can decide what I think of it however I would happily use it as a blush which I actually think is what it is designed for. Overall I am actually pleased with MAC for a change and I can't wait to get my hands on some more of the products from this collection.
