Blvd. Cosmetics Lavender Brush Soap | Review

Blvd. Cosmetics Brush Shampoo & Conditioner Lavender Swirl
A makeup brush cleaning soap, with a mild lavender scent, which cleanses and moisturises your makeup brushes leaving them soft and clean, the bristles will stay healthy and last longer. Excellent for natural or synthetic brushes and beauty blenders.
The solid brush shampoo is made with the finest natural oils containing antibacterial and conditioning properties. It is a great alternative to deep washing your makeup tools without alcohol and harsh chemicals. 100% Vegan and Biodegradable. The Scrub Off System is attached to the lid inside the tub.

I have been using the Koren Zander brush soaps for a good few years and always swore by them, those that are on my Facebook will have seen me mention it many times in my live streams. Recently I saw the Blvd. Cosmetics Brush Soaps hit so I decided to give this a whirl.

The Blvd. Cosmetics Brush Soaps come moulded into a plastic tub and on the lid of the packaging there is a circular velcro like material stuck down to the lid of the brush soap. The packaging itself is pretty simple and straight forward, in the description Blvd. Cosmetics mention the soap is built up of fine natural oils which contain antibacterial and conditioning properties which is what makes this different to simply washing your brushes with baby shampoo. Not many are actually aware baby shampoo can actually be damaging for your brushes over a long period of time as it will strip away at the bristles, unlike human hair which is actually grows from our scalps which produce their own natural oils and can somewhat repair itself. So the fact that this brush soap is actually designed with the right ingredients and is cruelty free is actually very vital.

For me I have a slight OCD when it comes to cleaning my brushes, I religiously spot clean after each use and deep clean once a week, if I have bookings then I will deep clean at the end of each day. August has been a month of weekends with back to back weekends so I have been using this brush soap at least 4 times a week and it has barely moved, what I noticed was with gel products or more stern products I had to use more of the brush soap so 2-3 times to remove the build up. However the biggest plus point is the drying time, once I finished washing my brushes all I'd have to do is gently rub against a towel and they'd be literally 95% dry and then a further 5 mins and they'd be practically dry. Everyone knows drying time is the worst part after washing your brushes but this brush soap has made life very easy! There is a few scents to choose from although they are only very lightly scented and theres also a unscented one along with a pro size one, I would say these are a definite must for anyone who uses makeup brushes!

Brush soaps £13.95 - £25.95 each.
