I picked up the Laura Mercier Addiction Highlighter a couple of months ago from Sephora before it actually launched in the UK, it is however now readily available to buy in the UK.
I don't actually personally own many products from Laura Mercier but this caught my eye whilst I was placing a large Sephora order. I have to admit the one thing that lured me into buying this was the packaging and detailing. The highlighter itself comes in a rather bulky yet sturdy casing, I do think that the casing should personally have been slimmer in width, they have also included a full size mirror within the compact which is always a bonus. The actual highlighter is detailed with what I'd describe as waves, I don't know if it is just me but it has a rather calming feel to the detailing.
Previously I have personally only tried Laura Mercier eyeliners and foundations so trying a new highlighter was something totally new to me from this brand. At the point of purchasing this I had a crazy thing going (still do lol!) for highlighters so I bought this amongst the Jeffree Star Skin Frosts, when it comes to highlighters I like my textures buttery soft and full of opaqueness. This is definitely more of a subtle highlighter, I've used the term highlighter throughout my review when it is actually a illuminator however I don't think I could personally use this all over my face as I would with a illuminator and for me it is definitely more on the highlighter side. I'd definitely say this is more of a subtle highlighter which is somewhat build able but definitely not build able to be able to gain the full opaque effect. If you prefer subtle highlighters then this is definitely right up your street, in comparison to Laura Geller Gilded Honey I would say Addiction is a paler gold.
