New Release | Jeffree Star Skin Frosts | Review/Swatches

Yep its highlighters again, a real weakness right there but if the passion is pure and they make me happy why not eh! So this time its the Jeffree Star Skin Frost's in the shades Ice Cold and King Tut, I originally wasn't going to get any of them but my willpower for saying no to makeup is next to none.

Firstly these compacts are HUGE, I included a MAC MSF next to one so u can see how the size difference. Housed in barbie pink packaging and full size mirror, the compacts come with the JS logo engraved into the actual pan. I heard about all the smashed pans due to the finely milled texture and in all fairness as mine were direct from JS I didn't hold much hope but luckily they reached me fine. The texture I'd say is almost like a pressed pigment texture, so when you swipe your finger through it the pay off is intense, however on a fluffy highlighter brush they will pick up much more subtle, if like me you prefer a strong highlight then I'd say to use a slightly rough bristled brush. I have posted a pic below from a youtube tutorial I did which you can view here where I used Ice Cold as my brow highlight.

I secretly have a thing for off white/white highlighters but there isn't that many about my other favourite one is ABH Starlight which has a warm tinge to it in comparison to the JS one, I'd say Ice Cold has a pearl tinge to is. King Tut on the other hand is 'slightly' bronzed gold, it works with my nc30 skin tone well but I think any lighter and it may look a tad bit dark. Overall I think I would've preferred these more if they had a slightly more powdery texture but on the other hand with the right tools the glow is amazing!
