Holiday 2014 Collection | BareMinerals The Magic Act & Touch Up To Glow | Review/Swatches

After last years Holiday Collection specially the BareMinerals Degrees of Dazzling set I was super excited to see what BareMinerals had on the cards for this years Holiday Collection. Honestly speaking I wasn't so pleased and thought a lot more effort and time could've gone into the selections they put together. Anyway I picked up two items; BareMinerals The Magic Act & Touch Up To Glow.

BareMinerals The Magic Act is a palette combined of 6 neutral pressed eyeshadow shades and 4 blushers. I have to admit I was let down slightly by the pigmentation from this set specially the blushers as you can see from my blended arm swatches, I couldn't get decent single swipe swatches of the blushers so had to refer to swatching them like this and really had to build up to get the best out of them to show you. They may probably work better for paler complexions. The eyeshadows have slightly better pigmentation if I'm honest but the first two matte shades are pretty chalky. So yes I am not so much impressed with this palette however I do like the concept of the packaging and how it unfolds but I guess thats about it.

Next up I got BareMinerals Touch Up To Glow a cute little compact which is smaller than their full size compacts, the compact itself is made out of gold plastic, they have also thrown in a mini size application brush which is pretty handy specially for under the eyes. Now I have been using this as a under eye setting powder to get the highlights effect but I found it tended to cake a lot and dry out the area after roughly 4 hours wear time. Even when I first put it on I notice it looks quite powdery and cake I'm not sure why but this has happened every single time I wear it. The powder itself is a slightly pink tinted powder with slight shimmer to it, I actually really like the effect it gives me only if it didn't cake and dry out my eye area so much.

I am quite disappointed as these are the first two products I have been disappointed with since trying out BareMinerals, before this I really loved everything I had tried by them and use to rave about BareMinerals and I guess its kind of put me off wanting to try more. Have you experienced anything similar with the Touch Up To Glow or did you pick up the Magic Act palette if so what did you think?

Palette £35.00 | Compact £15.00

They are such lovely colours, I can't say I've ever tried anything from Bare Minerals but it's a shame they were as good as they look.
