New Release | BareMinerals BARESKIN Pure Brightening Serum Foundation | Review

BareMinerals BARESKIN Pure Brightening Serum Foundation

I've been trialling this foundation for roughly 3 weeks, its no surprise how much interest has been around this foundation some people jumped and got it as soon as it was released, some where interested and some not sure, I'd say I personally wasn't sure either but was definitely interested so I decided to see for myself. This is BareMinerals first liquid foundation, I already love their pressed powder version as well as the loose mineral powder version. On a whole I generally like BareMinerals and haven't tried anything I don't like so that was all the more reason to try this.

Ok so name gives away the clue this is a foundation which contains a serum. Now I've read mixed reviews and the one thing that put me off was that 'it clings to dry patches' I actually didn't get the brush to go with it.

The packaging generally I really like its sturdy and pretty simple to use with a great nozzle allowing more control of how much product comes out. I also like the shade selections available as there is some great yellow toned shades which can seriously be a pain to find. There is many instructions telling you to shake the bottle well even on the bottle itself, seriously it is actual that important to shake it as the foundation and serum separate whilst you're not using it so you can end up with unbalanced product. I myself suffer from dermatitis so me having dry patches is no secret, that was my most biggest concern but I used a normal brush and found I didn't have that problem at all. I found you need to add a little extra buffing than usual but once blended I quite liked how it looked on my skin it also gave a lovely healthy glow which I was drawn to. Generally I don't mind this foundation what I also found is my sin wasn't irritated by this foundation for however long I wore it I'm guessing thats the part the serum plays but my skin heals a lot better too. I would say this does have to be set well with powder, may even need touching up through the day and for those who suffer from oily skin it may be worth while picking up a sample to see how your skin manages with this. For me I really like it and all be using it through the colder weathers.

  2. Is this the one that comes with the funny brush? The one with the recessed hole in the middle? How is the coverage? Is it light or medium to start?

  3. I agree, it takes a lot of blending to get this foundation to sit right and you may as well forget it if you have oily skin like mine and don't set it with powder! It does give a lovely, healthy glow though- I'm glad it works for you!

  4. I've never tried any makeup from bare minerals I'm ashamed to say despite hearing mainly good things::: a lot of blending may seem a bit time consuming in the morning when your rushing but worth it if it gives a good finish.

But I'm glad it worked for you and you like it...
