Clinique Cream Compact & Lash Power Mascara | Review/Swatches

Clinique Cream Compact & Lash Power Mascara
Clinique Cream Compact £27.50
Clinique Lash Power Mascara £18.00

If I'm honest I'm pretty new still to Clinique's makeup range, other than a handful of products that I've tried what I haven't tried from them before is foundations or mascara's, so naturally I was excited to try these.

First up is the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Compact this to me looked like a compact foundation only this claims; Hydration, SPF and colour correcting optics in one simple step. Little flaws disappear-redness, dullness, sallowness-everything's brighter. Lightweight, oil-free hydration and sunscreen mean a more flawless look tomorrow, too. Each versatile shade is appropriate for a range of skin tones.
Honestly speaking I'm still new to this whole BB/CC hype and this falls into the CC category. Being a person who loves full coverage could be the reason to blame for why I haven't ventured down the route of BB/CC creams.
Anyway first impressions like I mentioned was this looks like a cream foundation compact, which comes in lovely mirrored plastic packaging, a full size mirror and a sponge applicator. After using this I can say I loved the finish it was almost like I was actually wearing a foundation, it is described as sheer - moderate coverage but I definitely found this more on the moderate size however if you use it light handedly you can achieve a sheerer finish, you can also use this under a foundation as a skin corrector for fuller coverage. This definitely worked a treat at balancing out my skin as I have pigmentation and I think I love it best for that, the results you can see in the pictures above. It leaves my skiing looking healthy as ever. I like to (and have done in the picture above) to set it with a finishing powder (I used MAC's Translucent Powder). The only one thing that was a slight niggle for me was the fact I had to touch up more than often (I usually never have to touch up) around my t-zone area I have combination skin and this area tends to  get oily the most. Other than this I love using this and I'm glad I managed to try this as I use it often. For application I like to use the sponge to dab it on to my face and then blend with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush.
Next up the Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara I've really not been using mascara's much and I used to be a mascara girl who felt bare without mascara. Since losing majority of my lashes post giving birth I've never really had the length I used to have. Anyway this mascara comes in two shades and claims; Out-to-there length and fine-tuned separation plus a feathery-soft look and feel after every buildable coat. All in a formula that stays put for up to 12 smudge-resistant hours, yet removes easily with warm water.
Results - I found this mascara enhanced my length beautifully, I also liked how this gave my lashes a decent amount of volume. The wand is perfect for me because this is the type of wand I like to go for when choosing a mascara for myself. The best thing I love about this mascara is regardless of how much I layer it up (I trialled unto 5 layers) this mascara does not clump in the slightest! Removing this mascara is no hassle either so I have to agree with the way it has been described however towards the end of the day (roughly 8-9 hours) I did experience some crumbling but thats nothing major specially after a full days wear and my irritable eyes. So overall I love this mascara, you can see the results for yourself in the pictures above.
