Guest Post - Makeup Tutorial By Rachael

Hey everyone today I have another guest post from the lovely Rachael, we both did a guest post swap so don't fotget to check out my post over on Rachael's blog (hint - its a eyebrow tutorial) hope you enjoy this post :) Over to Rachael ...

Hi guys, my name is Rachael and I blog over at Serene Siren; I blog about everything from beauty to lifestyle and fitness! Aqeela and I have done a post swap so don't forget to read her post on my blog!
I have to admit, when it comes to my makeup, I'm not very adventurous - I like sticking to what I know, which tends to be neutrals but I thought I would try something a little different and see what you all think (go easy on me now, I'm still learning, haha)! I really love reading magazines and seeing the models with amazingly bright eye makeup and always think ooh, that looks lovely and I decided to have a go at that today!

To create this look, I use Benefit's Fake Up concealer in Ivory and Hello Flawless Powder in "I love me" Ivory for my base - nothing to drastic; just enough to cover any extreme imperfections while letting my skin shine through.
For my eyes, I used a lot of Urban Decay products. Urban Decay have such an amazing range of products for your eyes and they are such amazing quality - if you haven't tried their products, you're missing out! The palette I used was the Book of Shadows IV which is great, although a little awkward if you're travelling, as it has a nice range of different shades, both shimmery and matte.

I used the famous Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original before patting the shade Crystal (which has more of a blue tint than in the image) all over my lid as a base. I then applied Gravity at the outer corner of my eye before blending across my whole eyelid for a more powerful blue/purple look before adding just a dab of Blue Bus to the corners and blending for a softer look.

I used the shade Hijack which is one of my favourite shades, along my lower lash line for some contrast of colour. Using my favourite eyeliner, Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes in Zero, I tightlined my upper lashes for some slight definition before cyrling my lashes and applying Soap & Glory's Thick & Fast mascara.

What do you think of my look? Pretty simple but, for me, pretty adventurous! I hope you liked this post and, if you did, I would love if you had a look at my blog!
