What Zao say about their brand:
At the heart of organic make-up is David Reccole, Founder of Zao.
With over 10 years experience in organic cosmetics and vision to provide natural formulas enriched with active organic ingredients and sustainable packaging, Zao was born.
Inspired by a natural gift received from a Taiwanese friend (A pen and pencil made in bamboo material), David was inspired to use Bamboo for organic make-up. The round shape of the Bamboo gift is the same as the make-up castings produced today. From this point, the brand was born using Bamboo both for casting and formulations.
A side from its beauty, Bamboo is very specific for its high level of silica - Ideal for skin elasticity. The first brand with such a connection between outside and inside, such as true beauty!
Firstly I was instantly drawn into the brand from the presentation and packaging I was actually wow'd this was something totally unique and different to what I had seen amongst other makeup brands. Zao are also 'The only organic cosmetic range with sustainable bamboo packaging'.
I was sent a mascara and lipstick to review, the lipstick is 'Deep Red' in a matte texture and if Im Honestly speaking it takes a few swipes to build up, the texture is creamy and easy to apply it retails at £14.95.
The mascara is great for lengthening lashes, the brush is quite detailing making sure it catches all the lashes individually to avoid clumping and removing the mascara is very easy too, the mascara retails at £16.95.
Overall I am honestly intruged by this bran and would love to explore more of their products.
